The girls in the Vevey Orphan Asylum have an exceptionally low rate of caries as compared with other girls in Vevey. Diet in the asylum—Breakfast: cup of milk-chocolate, bread, and oatmeal with sugar and milk. Lunch and dinner : potatoes and green vegetables. Meat twice a week ; fruits relatively rarely. Nothing is eaten between meals; cakes, sweets, very rarely. [Re­ported by Rudolf Jeanneret.]
